Babadag rises about 1,960 meters directly behind Oludeniz, and its height, steady thermals and soft beach landing make it one of the most celebrated tandem paragliding sites on earth. A jeep or the newer cable car carries you up to the launch ramps, set at several different altitudes, where an experienced pilot straps you into a harness and simply runs off the edge; no skill is needed and you sit back the whole way. The flight lasts roughly 20 to 40 minutes depending on conditions, floating over the Blue Lagoon, the coastline and the pine forest before touching down on Belcekiz beach. Morning air is smoothest for a gentle ride, while midday thermals give a livelier, more acrobatic flight. Flights are weather-dependent and cancel in high wind, so book early in your stay to leave a backup day. The cable car also runs for non-flyers who just want the summit views.
